Miraa House strives towards “Making Independence Real and Achievable” for women with an intellectual disability. Miraa House is a not for profit, learning and life skills Centre that offers a post school program for women aged 17 and over with an intellectual disability. Based in the western suburbs of Brisbane, Miraa House offers a day service from Monday – Friday 9:00am-3:00pm.
Miraa House is a place where women with an intellectual disability are able to learn essential life skills, become more independent, develop their self-confidence, build and maintain relationships, connect with the community while planning for the future.
Miraa House offers in-Centre and community based activities. The resources offered at Miraa House are high quality and purposefully chosen to suit the needs of our clients to benefit their learning process. The Centre is based in a residential area and has been designed to resemble a home, making this a familiar and perfect environment for our women to learn the skills that they require for everyday living within a community.
